Synopsis:
Psychic and expert on the paranormal Jane Doherty brings a group to a supposedly haunted spot to conduct a seance in an attempt to contact the spirit world. I've tried to watch those "ghost hunter" type shows that you come across while flipping through the channels, and not once have I ever seen anything that remotely seems (a) interesting, (b) real or (c) scary. In fact, the only thing that comes to mind when I think about paranormal investigation is the SNL skit from last season which had the doctor from "House" leading a ghost hunt, and his farts kept showing up on the heat imaging camera. Funny stuff, granted, but about as real as spooky ghosts are going to get, at least in my eyes.
Well, this DVD did make me question my previously steadfast beliefs that there are no such thing as ghosts. I'll still go on record as such, but after sitting through this surprisingly creepy documentary, I have to wonder if there may be some basis in fact for the sounds, sensations, sightings, etc. that lead to ghost stories. Regardless of what your own persona beliefs are, the people on-screen in this production take what they're doing very seriously, and when some are brought to tears of stark terror, I'm sure your eyes will be wide-open on shock & disbelief as well.

Video: How's it look?
Shot on video, the DVD is presented in a fullscreen (4:3) transfer that is fairly sharp and clean throughout - some detail is lost in dimly-lit scenes, but that just adds to the whole ambiance of the presentation.
Audio: How's it sound?
The soundtrack gets a Dolby Digital stereo mix is that is clean & solid throughout - nothing fancy, but no complaints.
