Not a Movie Snob - POTW: Rango (again)

Poster of the Week: Rango

So Rango already won a poster of the week a couple months ago for an earlier version of this poster, but this newer one is just simply the best movie poster around right now.

In this one, we've got Johnny Depp's Rango, still with that same awesome expression on his face, clutching...something. A bath toy, or wind up fish, or maybe an animal sidekick of some kind. Either way, it's brilliantly out of place with the rest of the poster, which seems to be the point. You've got a vast variety of animal wheelers and dealers in the background, all looking like they just walked off the set of animal Deadwood and all looking like they are in the mood for iguana on a stick for dinner tonight.

And of course, still my favourite part, no mention of the movie being in 3D anywhere on the poster. Thank you Paramount, for allowing us a momentary breather from the endless barrage of animated movies all coming out in 3D. You are a true original.

With every new trailer, poster or ad campaign released in regards to this movie, I am getting more and more excited to see this. March 4th won't come fast enough.
