Poster of the Week: The Dark Knight Rises

Well my movie mouth is a-watering. The Dark Knight Rises marketing campaign is well under way and every further little slice of the pie they offer us, the better it looks and the further away next summer seems. So let's take this new poster in: Bane with his back turned on a fallen and smashed Batman mask. Could Nolan be so ballsy as to actually kill Batman off in this last instalment, leaving Gotham in a ruinous state and at the hands of the criminal factions that vie for control of it? Or will Bruce Wayne survive and put his alter ego to final rest?

The poster's colour scheme and Sin City like use of blacks and metallic whites reassures us that stylistically Nolan will continue on where The Dark Knight left off. And the rain is just a cool touch. Bottom line: Great poster balancing perfectly the piquing of interest about the fate of the Knight, while also remaining cryptic enough not to spoil anything. Can I buy my ticket yet?
