Poster(s) of the week: Oldboy

Like it or loathe it, Spike Lee's Oldboy remake is upon us. And considering the source material, the lead actor and the director of the film, the marketing for this thing seemed pretty low key. I don't recall seeing a poster or a trailer for it once, and then suddenly, there is was, up on the marquee of the local cinema.

But hitting the web and checking out the posters for this film, I noticed something: this movie boasts one of the most impressive poster campaigns I've ever seen. A couple dozen different posters, all similarly themed, but all with their own unique flavour as well. And every single one of them, among the coolest movie posters I've ever seen.

Regardless of what you think about this incredibly dark, violent, amoral tale, you can't deny that the following posters are strong, imaginative and just plain cool:
