Poster of the Week: Rango

Rango doesn't actually come out till next March, but seriously, what about this poster doesn't make you want to run out and see it right now? An awesome looking iguana type character, voiced by Johnny Depp, wearing a Hawaiian shirt, the wide open desert in the background. Some of Depp's other, less kid friendly movies come to mind when seeing this poster. Is this a family version of Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas? Or Lost in La Mancha? Is the iguana thing just a super weird looking quirk of a guy, or is he staring a predator right in the face?

The poster's not only funny, but also shows that the animation in this flick is going to be amazing. And here's the centrepiece ladies and gentlemen, the most impressive and original thing about this poster: It doesn't say 3D! Could it be? Will a major studio release an animated family movie without the option of seeing it in 3D? That's impressive. That takes balls. And that, if for no other reason, is why I fully endorse seeing this movie.
