We are excited to present you a first selection of movies that will be screened during the festival! Let's start with the Slovakian movie: THE TEACHER (2016, original title: Ucitelka), a comedy that will take you to Czechoslovakia back in 1986 where a new teacher is turning everyone's life upside down with her corrupted behavior! This comedy won many awards in Slovakia, Czech Republic and Spain.

Internationally awarded for Best Director, Best Actor and Best Film our Romanian drama is a must-see movie. GRADUATION (2016, original title: Bacalaureat) tells the story of Romeo Aldea, a father raising his daughter Eliza and their relationship after an attack that could jeopardize her future.

For all the fans of animation movies, we are glad to screen MY LIFE AS A ZUCCHINI (2016, original title: Ma vie de courgette). The story of this ten-year old boy, going to an orphanage and discovering life and friendship will please kids and adults! This Swiss film has over 20 awards and is nominated for an Oscar and a Golden Globe this year!

We are proud to bring great European movies to Calgary and we would like to thank our Public Sponsor: the Government of Canada; our Silver Sponsor: Tecnicas Reunidas Canada; our Bronze Sponsor: the Embassy of Spain, and our supporters: Project 21, Binder Productions and CJSW for their help and support as well as the 18 European communities.
