Hosted by the Libin Cardiovascular Institute of Alberta, the movie 'Flatliners' tells the story of five medical students who are obsessed by what lies beyond the confines of life. The students embark on a daring experiment: by stopping their hearts for short periods, each triggers a near-death experience - giving them a firsthand account of the afterlife.

Dr. Jacques Rizkallah, a cardiologist who focuses on problems related to the heartbeat (electrophysiology), will lead a discussion after the film. Dr. Rizkallah is a clinical assistant professor in the Department of Cardiac Sciences at the University of Calgary, and a member of the Libin Cardiovascular Institute of Alberta.
