The Nature of Change presents Jessicca Moore's Why Not Home, a documentary told through the eyes of doctors and nurses as they choose to experience labour and birth in the comfort of their homes rather than in hospital where they have been helping other women give birth. "Why Not Home examines the latest evidence on risks and rewards of different birth settings. The film presents a balanced and accessible view on the latest research, along with moving personal stories of medical practitioners faced with big decisions for their own growing families. Viewers are challenged to move beyond preconceived ideas, and to envision a fresh future for maternity care in America."

As information in this movie is based out of the U.S., I will be inviting Canadian perinatal health care specialists such as Midwives and Doulas to compare and shed more light on the Canadian maternity system.

6:15pm-6:45pm - Arrive at Cochrane Ranchehouse. Signs will be there to help navigate you to the theatre.
6:45pm-7:00pm - Brief Introduction (includes a draw for door prizes!)

Admissions go towards The Nature of Change providing doula services to women who would otherwise not be able to afford that extra support throughout pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. Services are given to mothers seeking support through the Calgary Pregnancy Care Centre or Emma House*.
