CSIF Fall 2018 On Location: Members Screening + Directors Talk

Saturday, November 10, 2018 @ 7:00 PM
cSPACE - 1721 29 Avenue SW, Calgary, AB
$5 General Admission

Twice a year, CSIF showcases the best of our members' latest films. Juried by our Programming Committee, these films highlight the great work being done within the Alberta filmmaking scene. Join us at cSPACE to celebrate local film and hear from the directors in a post-screening discussion about process, technique, and storytelling.

This event will also be featuring beverages for purchase from our new friends at Common Crown Brewing Co., with a complimentary tasting.

PROGRAM:
Reverie of a Wanderer | CSIF SMAC participants| 5:17

Built in their Image | Jean-Pierre Marchant | 4:13
Using a 1950s film about the suburbs, Built In Their Image critiques the way suburb developers market themselves to consumers. A non-narrative attempt at recreating the rich, emotional experience of expressive creation by utilizing the aesthetics of film.

The Letter | Amair Javaid | 8:09

Parallax | Jean-Pierre Marchant | 2:54
Shot on Super 8, Parallax is about stripping away all ornamentation and capturing unmoving landscapes over time.

The One I Adore | Jason E Seelmann | 8:39
A short film about love lost and the lengths some will go to get it back.

Silver Thimble Gang trailer | Marnie Madden | 1:22
Teaser for the western, The Silver Thimble Gang. A young woman's homestead is threatened when her abusive husband dies and leaves her saddled in debt. She soon finds herself wrapped up with a ragtag team of female outlaws posing as men and taking down risky bank scores.

Lucid Dream Music Video | Samantha Ferrari | 4:25
Hello Moth loses his way in a ghost town and finds himself under the spell of Glass Apple Bonzai, the leader of a never-ending 80s party.
