August's Saturday MASS features April and the Extraordinary World, a film directed by Christian Desmares and Franck Ekinci.

Inspired by the work of French cartoonist Jacques Tardi (creator of Adele Blanc-Sec), April and the Extraordinary World is a science-fiction feature set in an alternate world where humanity's most important scientists disappear before their key discoveries, and coal and steam still dominate technology.

Among those missing scientists are the parents of April Franklin, and her journey to find out the truth behind the disappearances leads to a globe-trotting adventure with her talking cat Darwin, with hints of Jules Verne, steampunk, Tintin and more.

This film will be screened in the original French with English subtitles.
