Over 175 of the year’s most groundbreaking and must-see movies are coming to CIFF! With over 175 films and 40+ countries represented, the hybrid festival rolls out with 90+ in-cinema feature films and shorts package screenings and 160+ films that you can watch online. The festival is the first major annual arts event in Calgary to launch at this scale - with COVID-19 protocols in place - and the first time the festival will be accessible by audiences outside Calgary - with streaming available across Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba from September 24 to October 4, 2020.

In addition to this year’s films, CIFF welcomes global audiences to tune into “Behind the Screen” events featuring live conversations with leading film industry members, including Finn Wolfhard (STRANGER THINGS) and Lawrence Kasdan (THE EMPIRE STRIKES BACK), and Meg Kasdan (THE BIG CHILL).

From award season heavy-hitters and can't-miss docs to the return of Music on Screen and Late Shift presentations, CIFF 2020 has something for everyone.

With our new hybrid model, you can watch shorts and features from the cinema or from home! Don't live in Calgary? No problem! Films in our online program will be available to stream in Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba. Taking over the Globe Cinema and Eau Claire, there's always plenty of entertainment for the discerning movie buff.

From Hollywood headliners and Documentaries to Music On Screen, there's something for all kinds of different film fans! The Calgary International Film Festival, presented by ATB, is proud to announce this year’s new ALBERTA SPOTLIGHT Section which will include 10 features and the return of the Alberta Spirit Shorts Package.

Not only has CIFF reduced their movie ticket prices for 2020 - from $15 - $17 to $11, CIFF offers a number of free or Pay-What-You-Can events, including their Behind the Screen section and two shorts packages.
