Each month, Calgary Cinematheque invites a well-known guest from the Calgary community to present his/her favourite film at the Plaza Theatre. A discussion about the film will follow the screening.

The second edition of this monthly series will feature DRUH FARRELL presenting THE AMERICAN WAY.

The American Way (Riders of the Storm) Dir. Maurice Phillips, 1986 - A group of radical Vietnam vets become broadcasting pirates and take on a Presidential candidate in this crazy comedy. The vets and their leader, "Captain," are television raiders flying all over the country in a B-29 they turned into flying broadcasting station S&M TV, jamming the airwaves wherever they go. Their self-assigned mission for the past 20 years is to keep the public informed about government activity to stop them from launching another foolish war like Vietnam.

DRUH FARRELL

Druh Farrell is a born-and-raised Calgarian and a long-time resident of Ward 7. Druh’s constituents can count on her to make decisions based on social and environmental considerations, as well as economic outcomes. She supports walkable neighbourhoods, accessible public transit, strong communities, and self-supporting growth – initiatives that help communities respond to change with resiliency and foresight.
