The Big Rock Eddies are a 22 year tradition with a long history of awarding up and coming filmmakers. This year we will be continuing that tradition only with a new twist... no more beer commercials or print ads. The 2015 Eddies will be our first short film festival!

In the past, your task was to make a Big Rock commercial, this time around we are asking you to create a short film with the theme “TRADITION.” How you interpret the word and what film genre you select is entirely up to you - the director. You can shoot live-action, animation, stop-motion, use actors, cut-outs, puppets or animals. Horror, sci-fi, fantasy, comedy or even a musical. The choice is yours, there are no restrictions on content or creativity, *Product placement is welcome in your short film but not necessary. 2015 will be our 30th anniversary of brewing craft beer the “traditional” way; all natural ingredients, never sacrificing quality for quantity. To quote Ed McNally, “To make a masterpiece no compromise can be tolerated.” What is tradition to you?

We are searching for the next great film director, so much so we are prepared to give away $20,000 in cash and a dose of fame to find a lucky winner.
