Rooftop Cannibal Cookout!
Calgary Underground Film Festival presents films with a side of meat! The Rooftop Cannibal Cookout will feature three films that might have you questioning the meat selection, but whether it's singing with a mouthful of arm, selling human jerky, or post-apocalyptic survival CUFF will make sure to get your cannibal fix!
This summer series is hosted by the Oak Tree Tavern (124-10th Street NW) on Thursday August 9th, 16th & 23rd.

Cannibal! the Musical
August 9th, 9:30 p.m.
The infamous Matt Stone and Trey Parker feature film debut! Since 1993 CANNIBAL! THE MUSICAL has become a stage production, a Tromasterpiece and of course, a cult classic.
Not only will Cannibal deliver on the blood and gore for our Cannibal Cookout, but it will also let us see how many beers it takes to get everyone singing to Cannibal's classic songs. We expect a few people already know all the words to such classics as Let's Build a Snowman, Shpadoinkle Day and When I Was on Top of You.
Motel Hell

It takes all kinds of critters...to make Farmer Vincent's Fritters!
You see Farmer Vincent makes the best smoked meat in the county, but for some reason the Motel Hello is always empty... The secret to Vincent’s delicious meat is human flesh. Victims are buried to their necks and fed until they are ready for harvest.
Bordering on comedy. intentional or otherwise, MOTEL HELL is another hidden cannibal classic. Come for the horror homage but stay for the chainsaw duel.

When the world has come to an end what is a butcher & landlord to do when there's no meat left for his tenants? Clapet, the butcher, tries to keep control and balance in the apartment building by luring unsuspecting victims to use as a cheap source of meat. Louisine, an unemployed circus clown, arrives to replace a maintenance man whose disappearance is a meaty mystery. Complicating matters is the friendly relationship growing between Louisine and Julie, the butcher's daughter.
DELICATESSEN marks director Jean-Piere Jeunet's (AMELIE & MICMACS) feature film debut and has been dubbed 'essential viewing for vegetarians'.
