Centers on the 2002 Oakland Athletics baseball team, who were led by general manager Billy Beane to an excellent season despite having the lowest payroll in the major leagues. In addition to scouting and more conventional methods of assembling a team, Beane introduced statistics and mathematical analysis into player evaluation, to the chagrin of many traditionalists.

Four Words S L O W! Or Another Four Words.. L O N G! This Is Not A Movie With A Lot Of Energy, But It Has Heart. Brad Pitt Is Channeling Robert Redford, And Jonah Hill Holds His Own Against Pitt (Redford) Which I Found Impressive. I Was Hoping That The Story Would Be Inspiring, And Maybe After Some Thought It Will Be More So. I Guess I Was Just Hoping For More. It Is Definitely An Ok Movie, But Wait For The Cheap Night Or Cheap Seats Would Be My Recommendation! Pitt Is Brooding Through Most Of The Film And His Character Is Eating Through All Of It. That Was Entertaining!! It Is A Good Thing He Is Handsome, Because The Movie Is Slow, Just Because The Story Is, I Guess. It Is A Sold 6.5 Out Of 10.
