Two years ago we welcomed a very special guest into town. Greg Sestero star of the modern cult classic THE ROOM, came down and performed a live script reading and Q&A to a sold out audience which proved to be one of the most popular events we’ve ever put on. Given that it’s our 5 year anniversary, and with the Hollywood adaptation of Greg’s book THE DISASTER ARTIST staring James Franco and Seth Rogen about to hit theatres, we decided there was no better time than the present to bring him into town.

On November 29th Greg will be here once again with a live script reading of the original script for THE ROOM. The live reading will feature a mix of local talent filling the roles as well as audience members selected that night! Greg will also read from his memoir The Disaster Artist followed by a Q&A.

Following Greg’s presentation will be a special Calgary premiere of a new documentary all about the making of THE DISASTER ARTIST (2017) as well as a very special sneak peek of Greg’s new movie BEST F(R)IENDS co-starring TOMMY WISEAU

SYNOPSIS:  Finally, the dynamic duo that is Tommy Wiseau and Greg Sestero has reunited for a dream project that will send fans of The Room and The Disaster Artist into paroxyms of unabated joy once more. 

A drifter (Sestero) who arrives in L.A. physically unharmed but mentally bruised; his shirt is covered in blood and he seems unable to speak. He ekes out a meager living by begging on the mean Angelino streets and slowly resigns himself to his hand to mouth predicament. One day he crosses paths with a peculiar mortician (Wiseau) who asks for help in exchange for money.

It’s not long before the two find themselves engaged in an…unusual yet increasingly lucrative underground enterprise. With more money comes more problems as jealousy, anger and greed start to poison their initially warm, if odd, partnership. Will these best f(r)iends survive the turning tide?

As with all Fifth Reel events we will also have beer for sale in the lobby which you'll be able to enjoy in the theatre while you watch the movie!!

FIFTH REEL HOUSE RULES:
The Globe Cinema is located at 617 8 Ave S.W. Debit and Credit are accepted at our Box Office, but the bar and concession are CASH ONLY (There is an ATM available on the main floor). The Fifth Reel bar is located upstairs, where you will find our menu of alcoholic beverages. Popcorn etc. is located at the concession stand downstairs.

Audience participation and dressing up is always encouraged. Yelling, cheering, jeering, quoting- a- long are all also highly encouraged. Past screenings have been as loud and as rowdy as the last house party you've been to. The Fifth Reel is an interactive movie going experience, the audience makes the fun. If you expect to sit on your hands in silence for two hours then this might not be for you...
