15th Marda Loop Justice Film Festival 2020 [Virtual]

The Marda Loop Justice Film Festival released the 2020 lineup for the 15th annual Marda Loop Justice Film Festival, the first ever offered digitally.

The lineup this year includes seven socially conscious documentary film screenings to be held digitally over seven days in November. For the first time in the festival’s 15 year history, the films will be available for screening online across the province of Alberta, rather than in-person in the Calgary region only, allowing a wider audience the opportunity to learn about some of the important social justice issues of our time.

As in the past, all screenings are free to attend, but this year viewers will watch from the comfort and safety of their homes. The titles come from different countries, with topics ranging from human rights and social justice to environmental issues. Each screening will be followed by a digital interview with featured guests, including film directors and subject experts, who will discuss current issues addressed in the film. 

This year we’re going virtual and partnering with the Red Deer Justice Film Festival to bring you seven days of incredible films that you can watch from the comfort of your own home!

November 18 - Sockeye Salmon, Redfish
November 19 - From Durban to Tomorrow
November 20 - Alice Street
November 21 - Never Going Back
November 22 - Indebted to All Women

Since 2006 the Marda Loop Justice Film Festival has screened top documentary films highlighting social justice issues at no cost to viewers. Films selected focus on human rights, environmental and social justice issues, and provide citizens with an opportunity to learn about and discuss important social justice issues. Marda Loop Justice Film Festival is a non-profit society supported through viewer, small business and non-profit donations.
