Chasing Ice is the story of acclaimed environmental photographer James Balog’s mission to gather undeniable evidence of our changing planet. After visiting Iceland on assignment for National Geographic, Balog conceived of a project entitled ‘The Extreme Ice Survey’. He began deploying revolutionary time-lapse cameras across the Arctic to capture a multi-year record of the world’s changing glaciers. The resulting videos and images compress years into seconds and capture ancient mountains of ice in motion as they disappear at a breathtaking rate.

Dir. Jeff Orlowski | 2012 | 75 mins | PG-13
