The grand finale of the world’s most celebrated classical music festival. Pianist Benjamin Grosvenor, soprano Danielle de Niese and tenor Jonas Kaufmann are the stars at this year’s Last Night of the Proms, broadcast live from London’s Royal Albert Hall on Saturday 12 September. Marin Alsop, who triumphed at 2013’s Last Night, presides over a finale that opens with the new and ends with the Last Night favourites (Rule Britannia, Jerusalem and Land of Hope and Glory). Among composers featured are Shostakovich, Richard Strauss and Puccini. The show will also mark the 50th anniversary of the film The Sound of Music with a singalong medley.
